Potash / Soda Feldspar
Potash Feldspar, a prevalent mineral located within the Earth’s crust, serves a significant function in the ceramic sector. This adaptable mineral is extensively employed in the ceramic industry, where it is essential for improving the technical characteristics of ceramic materials. Its distinctive chemical makeup enhances the strength and longevity of various ceramic products, including tiles, sanitary ware, tableware, and technical ceramics.

In the ceramic manufacturing process, Potash Feldspar is employed as a fluxing agent, which effectively reduces the melting point of raw materials. This facilitates proper fusion and contributes to the formation of a dense, non-porous structure in the final ceramic products.
Moreover, Potash Feldspar functions as a filler material, which helps minimize shrinkage during the firing process. It also enhances the thermal shock resistance of ceramics by ensuring uniform heat distribution throughout the material.
SRS Exim House offers a diverse selection of Potash Feldspar in various grades.

- Improves the body whiteness
- High alkali content
- Increase the fired flexural strength in the tile body.
- Stabilize the firing temperature with broad thermal range.
- Contribute good whiteness and glossiness.
Characteristics of Potash Feldspar
Potash Feldspar is a largely abundant group of minerals in the earth’s crust, which forms around 60% of available terrestrial rocks. The deposits provided sodium feldspar and potassium feldspar with mixed feldspars. Feldspar minerals are an indispensable component in igneous, metamorphic and sedimentary rocks, to such a level that the arrangement of a number of rocks having a base with required feldspar content. The mineralogical composition of most feldspar can be articulated in terms of the ternary system Orthoclase, Albite as well as Anorthite.
